My name is Cynthia — and my journey into event hospitality started the way most great things do: organically. After a year of industry experience, people simply began asking me to bartend their events. I said yes. But when it came time to price my services, I had no roadmap.

I went to the City of Chicago for guidance, only to find that no one could categorize what I was doing. I wasn't a catering company. I wasn't selling alcohol. My business existed in a space that Chicago hadn't defined yet. It wasn't until a trip to Los Angeles, California that I finally had a name for it — Mobile Bartending. California had been doing it for years.

I came home, formed my first corporation with zero business knowledge, and built from the ground up — all while working full-time in nonprofit leadership. That dual life taught me discipline, empathy, and how to show up with excellence even when no one has done it before you.

Ten years later, what started as a favor for friends has grown into a full-service event hospitality company. The rebrand to SipwithCJ represents that evolution — expanded services, a refined vision, and an unwavering commitment to making every event feel as intentional as it is memorable.
